Sthembile Ismael is a self taught visual artist of three years who describes her style as abstract and contemporary. She works with oil and mixed media. With exhibitions at art institutions like Modzi Arts and the Lusaka National Museum, this artist also takes time to do mural work around the city. She’s in a group called the Artist Collective, a group of young Zambian based fine and contemporary artists who are taking a different approach to improving the Zambian art market.

“Art is a way to connect with people. Humans love to feel, therefore connections are cardinal,” she says.

She’s decided to take on her passion to South Africa and is having her first art exhibition sponsored by Nights in the Garden, a social fashion and art exhibition for the young and creative crowd on the third of November 2018 at Republic of 94 in Braamfontein.
