Pretoria- 24th February 2017

Good morning to all Zambians in South Africa.

Please note that South African Police Service (SAPS) granted permission to a group called “Mamelodi Concerned Citizens” to conduct a protest march against foreign nationals or immigrants.

The march is taking place in Pretoria in South Africa.

The march is expected to start from Mamelodi township and proceed to the Department of Home Affairs and Department of Labour.

Please avoid the Pretoria Central Business District and all the Pretoria hot spots.

So far there is a reported development and serious incidence in Atteridgeville in Pretoria West.

Some roads in the area are blocked and protesters have barricaded the area with trees, and stones are preventing people from leaving the area.

If anyone in this area is affected or anywhere else in Pretoria or Johannesburg kindly call us or get in touch using under listed numbers.

The Minister of the Department of Home Affairs, Hon. Malusi Gigaba MP, has called for a meeting with African Diplomats this afternoon to discuss the rising tension, the violence and related matters that have risen against Africans living in South Africa.

Zambia and many other countries will use the opportunity to raise the concern regarding the safety of our nationals and other immigration matters affecting Zambians living in South Africa.

Please note that online registration is available via www.zambiapretoria.net. Zambians without internet access may enroll directly with the Zambian Mission in Pretoria.

This is important to help know where Zambians are.
